This site is the right one to create funny avatars. Designing one takes just a couple of minutes.
You can choose from the outfit your avatar is supposed to wear, to the expression you want him/her to have on her face.
I created one myself in three minutes.
This site is highly recommended to work with children, and preadolescents.

This web page seems to be very appealing to students any age. Here, they can create their own characters,  choose the text-to-speech application, or add their own voice in order to make their own creation more personal.
The one I created is a boy called John, who is introducing himself, telling us his name, age and place of living.

This site is wonderful to create quizzes using the videos you like most. You can choose the level of your students and the skill you want to focus on. Creating a quizz takes just a couple of minutes.
The one I designed is based on part of an episode of the series: Little Britain. The focus is on vocabulary about everyday English. Once the students have watched the video, they are supposed to answer a couple of questions.
You can have a look at my quizz below.

Review on the site: Glogster.com

This web site seems to be the right tool to work with girls, especially, since this has to do with creating posters using photos, animate images, and sounds. Students can decorate the way they want, choosing from a wide array of options (from the background colours, themes, to animate phrases and images)
Above you can see my own creation with this tool.
Hope you like it!

Review on the site: Smilebox

This web-page is ideal to create a power point presentation. This appeals to students all ages.
The one I created is about holidays. You can include the kind of music you like, add special effects (like photograph rotation, change in background colours, etc)
There are some drawbacks with this particular site. In order to use it, you should download the smilebox application to your computer, and this may be problematic if you want to use this site with your students. Be careful!
It is also complicated to share what you create. You're asked for a code to do so.
Give this page a second thought before using it.

Review on the site: Xtranormal.com

I must admit that this site is wonderful, since you can create your own movies. The characters that cna be chosen are quite appealing, especially for children. Mind you, there are also characters that may be interesting to adolescents, as well!
My sample movie was created in order to revise Simple Past. It is a shorty dialogue between two friends who are telling each other what they did during the weekend.
The steps to be followed are quite easy. The page is designed in a user-friendly way, making things simple.
It is just a question of typing what you want your characters to say, and that's it! As simple as that!
Here goes my sample movie: http://www.xtranormal.com/makemovies/edit_movie/ccc56508-e750-11df-be74-003048d69c21/fm/?nosearch=1&noregion=1
Hope you enjoy it!

Review on the site: GoAnimate.com

After having investigated this web page, I must admit that I find it really useful and appealing to students, especially teenagers.
What students can do here is create a cartoon (like the comic strips we see on the newspapers) but with effects, such as voices, sounds, music, etc. Students can select to record their own voices in order to make the cartoon a bit more personal. To create one takes just a couple of minutes.
Once you sign up, a cartoon character takes you on a tour of the page so as to show you how to create yours. It is really simple.
I created one myself. It is about David's (my character) daily routine. It is short but long enough to check that the Simple Present tense was correctly used. (this is what I would test, if one of my students chose to do it).
Students will get really engaged in creating their own cartoons, and almost any language item can be exploited with this site.
Here goes my home-made cartoon: http://goanimate.com/movie/08oOBVwlD2a0/1
Hope you enjoy it!
